Along with her husband, Dean, they founded McWilliams Governmental Affairs Consultants, a political consultancy. Their firm is different in that they are a Republican/Democrat husband and wife team.
In 2007, she helped save a $3 million cancer research project. During the 81st Legislative Session, she helped pass $100 million incentive package that led to Texas getting a clean coal power plant.
